Music phenomenon

Music has always been a part of us !
whether we use music as a vehicle to call on the Most High, to uplift and revive our spirits, to meditate, or to bring joy to our hearts, it is embedded in us and it has become almost impossible to live without. We are all musicians in our own ways without even realize it. We create music unconsciously all the time as we are operating in our daily lives. Naturally, when we are in a state of boredom, loneliness, or happiness we start humming, clapping, stomping, whistling, knocking objects, and singing without realizing that we are creating music.

In ancient times our ancestors used music to call on the most high, connect to nature, rejoice over enemies, and as we do today for entertainment.

And Miriam the prophetess wrote a song rejoicing the triumphant victory over the enemy, Exodus 15:1-19.

King David was a skillful and talented musician who used his music to cast out evil spirits from King Saul, 1 Samuel 16:23.

The prophet Moses wrote a song for Israel that the Most High himself ordained - Deuteronomy 32:1-43.
Nowadays, music is mostly used for economic purposes and entertainment. Some of our people who make a good living make it through music. Those of us who are fortunate enough to succeed in the music industry get to live a lifestyle only kings and queens could have imagined, and those are those of our people who are in the world. As for Hebrew Israelite artists in the truth, I don't know any who is able to live solely on a music career - this is due to the fact that the Hebrew Israelite community is a small community that is rapidly growing with much division. And, also, not to mention that a large number of Hebrew Israelites don't believe in commerce but believe that they are entitled to get everything for free.
Musicians in biblical times used to get paid for their musical talents as well.

Apparently, music is in our nature. Us, children of Israel use music in almost everything that we do and wherever we go we carry our music with us . When we are in the world we make worldly music. When we transition to the truth we transition our music to fit our new lifestyle.

Now, many Hebrew Israelites believe that because we are living in the last days and we are in the time of Jacob's trouble, we are not to dance, sing, rejoice, and try to live a comfortable life. However, such a belief system is contrary to the scriptures. The Most High himself commanded us to dance, sing, and rejoice while we are awaiting salvation.

The following scriptures prove that we ought to be glad and rejoice:

Psalm 81:1 sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

81:2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

Zechariah 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.

It's ok to be rich and to rejoice !
Ecclesiastes 2:8 . I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.
Isaiah 35:10. And the ransom of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Israel will rejoice at last
Hebrew singers of old used to get paid for their musical talents:

1St Chronicles 9:33
And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.
Nehemiah 11:22
The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Ba'ni, the son of Hashabi'ah, the son of Mattani'ah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of A'saph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.

Nehemiah 11:23
For it was the king's commandment concerning them, that a certain portion should be for the singers, due for every day.

Nehemiah 13:10
And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.

Nehamiah 13:11
Then contended I with the rulers, and said, why is the house of God forsaken? And I gathered them together, and set them in their place.
